LANDSCAPE TECHNICIAN JOB SUMMARY: Performs landscaping duties, such as laying sod, planting trees & plants, installing outdoor lighting, irrigation systems, water ponds, decks, patios, walkways, fencing, & retaining walls and performing skid steer services, such as excavation, trenching, ground prep & more. JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES*: Installs Landscape Design(s) provided, supervised, & inspected by Landscape Foreman. Performs landscaping duties, such as laying sod and planting trees & plants Installs outdoor lighting, irrigation system, water pond, decks, patios, walkways, fencing & retaining walls Performs skid steer services, such as excavation, trenching, ground prep & more supervised & inspected by Landscape Foreman Performs necessary duties as a team player along side of Landscape Foreman & the entire landscape crew Maintains the equipment, which may include repairs and preventive maintenance, as needed Operates powered landscape & lawn care equipment, such as ditch witch, mowers, blowers, weed whackers, electric clippers, and pruning saws Reports any maintenance concerns or unsafe conditions or repairs to supervisor Performs other related duties as assigned or requested. *ELM reserves the right to add or change duties at any time. JOB QUALIFICATIONS:                        Minimum Education: High School / G.E.D. Minimum Experience: One (1) year Minimum Field-of-Expertise: Basic aptitude and understanding of lawn care equipment. Preferred Field-of-Expertise: Experience or knowledge of landscape & lawn care equipment, detailed landscape techniques and practices, and horticulture is preferred. SKILLS: Must be able to lift moderate to heavy equipment. Must be familiar with the use of equipment. Problem identification and resolution Work independently and pay close attention to detail PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Frequently required to stoop or bend Regularly required to walk Regularly required to lift moderate weights (25-50 pounds) Frequently required to reach with hands and arms Hand coordination required Ability to operate power tools  WORK ENVIRONMENT: Potential exposure to extreme heat or cold Exposure to wet and/or humid conditions Exposure to moving mechanical parts Protective clothing or equipment is required including: gloves, steel-toed boots, protective eyewear Comments: Valid driver’s license and good driving record is required.
